Yuri Gorokhov was tested extensively on Sunday, October 9th and earned his second degree black belt. His performance radiated energy and focus along with a great understanding of the movements and how to apply them. The private testing was limited to the examining board of ten current nidans and above.

Master Devine commented this was a unique performance of athleticism and power that seldom is seen in karate. Earning 2nd degree or nidan encompasses also the involvement in karate such as teaching regular classes which he does on both Mondays and Saturdays. Mr. Gorokhov also is an active participant in the PMA teams for demonstrations and for tournaments.

Generally it takes two to four years after earning the initial black belt to advance to this second level to give some idea of the commitment factors. Well done Mr. Gorokhov, your success also reflects on the whole PMA.
